Ghostface and live band BadBadNotGood are a very, very good combo on their 60s soul-inspired collabo album, “Sour Soul.” Do your ears a favor and cop this indie Lex Records release right here.
Stellar cameos from potent lyricists like Elzhi and MF Doom round out the album (in addition to a psychedelic Danny Brown guest spot). The record also features extended hypnotic instrumental grooves.
My only complaint is that “Tone’s Rap” and the opening verse of “Mind Playing Tricks” took it too far with the misogyny, but this is the man who brought us “Wildflower,” after all.
